Datev Challenge Roth, Germany
Amy Walker will join over 5000 participants at one of the oldest and most legendary triathlon events in the world on July 17, 2016. The race draws athletes from 60 nations and 180,000 spectators, making it the largest long-distance triathlon event in the world.

Amy grew up in Vermont and met Peter through social gatherings while he was attending Burke Mountain Academy. They continued a lifelong friendship through college and adult life. When Peter passed away last year Amy pledged to do an Ironman as a commitment to follow through on something major and to honor Pete who always urged her “to do that thing she really wanted to do.”

Watch Amy live and cheer her on through social media!

The event began with a 2.4 mile swim in the Rhine-Main-Danube Canal, followed by a 112 mile bike ride throughout the country side primarily south of Roth, Germany and finished with a 26 mile run. Amys total time was 12H, 56 min!

We know Peter is smiling down on Amy’s amazing accomplishment. Tremendous effort and congratulations.
